Real Wedding Details : DIY Florals

These are some great fall wedding picture and wedding decor ideas.

via Brenda's Wedding Blog by Brenda on 9/2/09

Earlier today I featured a wonderful giveaway being hosted by Nicole of NKoester Photography & Design for your chance to win 1 of 2 FREE Destination Wedding photo shoots for 2010. See details here. Now, I'd like to share with you the amazing floral details from Megan and Seth's wedding that was held at the house of the groom's mom in Mount Carroll, IL. Seth's mother did all the floral arrangements herself from the flowers she grew in her very own garden. The flowers are absolutely breathtaking - loving the handmade arrangements, fresh green apples, butterflies, and lavender accents.
More from the wedding of Megan and Seth can be seen here on Nicole's Blog.

Selecting a Wedding Dress? Consider The Color Controversy

An interesting article. It opens up your mind to non-conventional colours for your wedding outfit and express your personality better and makes your wedding more unique.

Most girls dream of walking down the isle in a big white dress. It's one of the only consistent wedding traditions. Now we see most brides leaning towards an off white dress and every once and awhile a modern bride comes along who wants to make a statement. Her statement just happens to fall in the midst of a white tradtion. She goes against the grain and wears a colored dress:

So for our bride readers out there who are leaning towards the colored dress trend, we say to stop and think first.

Disadvantages:
  • You may not be the only one wearing your color.
  • You can always wear a colored dress.
  • What color will your bridesmaids wear? Colors are harder to pair up together.
  • When can you honestly wear another big white dress again?

Advantages:
  • Colors compliment most skin tones better than white or ivory.
  • Don't have to worry THAT much about staining your dress.
  • You're the bride, so you will stand out regardless of the color of your dress.
  • A colored dress can incoprorate your color scheme and vision more.

So how far is too far for a pop of color? Do any of you brides plan on wearing a colored dress? And do any of you traditional brides think it's going too far?

A Beautiful Wedding

Take a look at some of these beautiful pics. Remember - if you plan your wedding well - you can also have a beautiful wedding!

via Brenda's Wedding Blog by Brenda on 9/1/09

Today's beautiful wedding comes to us from Madeline of Madeline's Weddings & Events and Joel Ross Photography. Shannon and Warren were married on Saturday August 15, 2009 at The Gates, after booking Madeline and her team about 18 months prior.
I'm loving the above photo of the guys shoes and the set of photos below {wedding party and bride/groom}. Joel's photos are fabulous. Great mood and dramatic lighting are captured in each one.
And, what would a wedding from Madeline's Weddings & Events be without one of her stunning candy buffets? I love what you can do with apothecary jars for weddings.

Thank you so much Madeline and Joel for sharing this gorgeous wedding with my readers today. Your work is amazing! And, congratulations to the lovely couple Shannon and Warren.

Eye Candy Friday : v33 {blue and violet details}

Wedding Planner Book has found some cool pictures....

via Brenda's Wedding Blog by Brenda on 8/28/09

Today's Eye Candy Friday features 3 absolutely gorgeous photos from Beach Bum Photography in Florida. The blue and violet details are amazing and I'm so in love with the cake {created by Creative Confections by Betty Weber}. I heart the simple cake with decorative detailing and the pop of color with the brooch-like floral, it's eye candy for sure.
Thank you to Beach Bum Photography for sharing these stellar photos with my readers. To see more from this lovely Marine wedding, please click here. And, to see more from the husband and wife team of Beach Bum Photography, please visit their website and blog.
